The 2nd annual Golfing for a Cause Tournament, presented by the Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) Foundation, was held Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Broadland Creek National Golf Course. The longtime event was taken over by the HRMC Foundation in 2021.

Nearly $7,000 was raised to help support early detection of breast cancer through the We’ve Got You Covered fund, which provides screening mammograms for women in need. The tournament is one of four annual fundraising events that support the program.

The day got off to a cloudy, chilly start but cleared off in the afternoon, allowing golfers to enjoy a day of golf and fun. This year, 16 teams of 64 local golfers participated in the event. Local businesses donated a variety of pin prizes and raffle items. Sponsors included American Trust insurance, Duane's Carpet Outlet, and Real Estate Connection.
